New Year Puppy Classes

Our next session of puppy classes which will begin in January. The evening classes are fully booked, but there are still places for the daytime classes.

The eight week Kennel Club Puppy Foundation course is designed to get you and your dog off to the best possible start.

They include:

  • Responsibility and Care
  • Cleanliness and Identification
  • Attentive Response to Name
  • Play With The Puppy
  • Socialisation
  • Handling and Inspection to Maintain Health
  • Puppy Recall
  • Basic Puppy Positions
  • Walking in a Controlled Manner
  • Stay for Approximately Ten Seconds
  • Take Article Away from the Puppy
  • Food Manners

The courses are for puppies from twelve weeks old and are limited to ten puppies per class.

At the beginning of the course, you will receive an introduction leaflet containing a description of the exercises and an Assessment Diary to guide you through.

After eight weeks, you and your puppy will receive a rosette and a certificate to say that you have completed the course successfully and you will then have the opportunity to continue training for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze award.

The trainers are John Rowland and Lyn Sparrow, with Kate Grindrod, and the next courses will run from the end of January 2012 at 11.00 to 12 noon and 7.00 to 8.00 pm.

The eight week course costs £45 and places are limited so please apply early.
